Benaiah Charles Schuessler

It's a BOY!

Benaiah, son of the priest Jehoiada, was David's general for the army of the Kingdom of Israel. In Hebrew, his name means "God has established."

In the Bible, Benaiah's story is told primarily in I Chronicles 27, II Samuel 23, and I Kings 1.

Life @ 155

Today Nan and I went to the official 2nd Dr. Peskin appointment which went by faster than...well faster than it will probably take you to read this post. The most important element that came from this time together was the baby's heartbeat. Not only did we hear it but it is going 155, which sounds like it's ready to workout on the elliptical, and Dr. Peskin said that we have about 1% chance of a miscarriage. Everything is exciting this is what is happening this week: The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements.

Dr. Peskin also said now we can tell the world that we're having a baby!!!

From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Every new beginning...

Nancy has had a tiresome first trimester but the good thing is that she has not been sick. It's an amazing site to see your wife carry a child and the exciting things that we will always be able to have just between the two of us. After the end of next week Nancy will be done with the first trimester and the baby's inner ear, fingers and other body parts will be visibly developed. This is a very exciting season and journey.
